THE
DANCE OF THE OMER
COURSE

“Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves.” (p.97)”
― Dr. Bessel van der Kolk

One of the most important and effective trauma PTSD treatments is to help the client re-cultivate the felt-sense of safety in their bodies. This felt sense in internal safety, with proper guidance from a skilled therapist, often expands outwards, helping the client feel safer in their immediate environments and the world at large

An immersive and transformative 8-week journey through the Kabbalistic Sefirot and their guiding power in your life.

Naomi Morgenstern, Beit Shemesh

Your teachings about the Sefirot have really helped me connect and learn about the Sefirot. Its the first year I have succeeded in counting the days properly all the way till the end ...  I never learned  in depth - or really at all - about the Sefirot before and its always been on my to do list. This was exactly what I needed and it came at exactly the right time. Very much appreciated.

Tamy Jacobs, Evanston, IL

I have so much to say… I read the teachings each and every day. Some days, like yesterday, I read it 3 times in a row to really hear what you were saying…. You’ve helped me understand a deeper connection that each of the Sefirot have to each other. What a gift! You have also provided me with exercises each day for me to ponder and question. And if all of that isn’t enough, you’ve sent me on a quest for my own answers to new questions!

Yael Toren, Tel Aviv

Thank you for these teachings! They've given me a way to learn about and connect to each day of the Omer with so much depth! Really, I've been in awe by how much you are giving on so many levels - the references and quotes you bring in, the relevance to our daily life and personal process, and the practices! It's hard to say what stands out most because each teaching is so rich. Each has helped me internalize a sense of movement, flow, and direction in my life ... to continue to step onwards in my own process and practice, and to do so with compassion!

What People Are Saying

Joshua Reitzenstein, Los Angeles

These teachings couldn't be more on point. The energetic alignment of each day is blasting through my relationship with [ _ ] with every count. Thank you for channeling this wisdom with such practicality.

Ayelet Polensky, Jerusalem

My husband and I used this invaluable tool to guide us through our personal transformation during the Omer and it blew our minds.

Not only did it give us epic spiritual stuff to talk about together, but it really broke down the steps and process of our own individual growth.

I have yet to come across an Omer companion as captivating, clear and helpful as this one. I definitely recommend everyone get a copy now! Don't walk... Run!

Chana Ganz, Jerusalem

Unbelievable.

What an unbelievable seven weeks you led us through.

Thank you!

Rabbi Zev Leff
Rav of Moshav Matityahu

[R' Benji] presents the various Kabbalistic sefiros connected to each day of the Omer, explains them in detail, and provides practical advice on how to implement them in our quest for achieving a meaningful re-receiving of the Torah on Shavuos. ... I found the work comprehensive, fascinating, informative and inspiring.

I recommend this work as an effective companion and guide to making one's counting of the Omer more meaningful and more productive.

Reb Benji's Sefer dances with a special type of Lichtikeit/Light, a book filled with kindness, compassion, wisdom and a deep yearning to get closer to Hakadosh Baruch Hu.

Every day of the Omer period is another level of refinement; a movement from Egypt and inner slavery to freedom and openness in receiving the Torah.

This book will help many deepen this experience and allow each day of counting to truly count.

Director of Ohr Chadash, Author

[Reb Benji] weaves an amazing tapestry of varied ideas from the practical to the mystical, giving the reader a refreshingly new approach to these auspicious days. Although many of the connections the author brings are highly ingenious, the book is meticulously sourced and grounded in Jewish law and tradition.

I highly recommend this book as a trusted companion for the seven-week period of Counting the Omer.

I have come to see that R. Elson has our generation in mind all the way through. He seems to deeply understand what we are - whole human beings, not just brains on a stem; that there is a full human experience: body, mind and soul ...

 R. Elson has taken wonderful action and has produced something that invites us all to take action and create transformational change in our life.

[In Dance of the Omer] my dear friend Benji Elson takes us by the hand on a step-by-step journey of transformation through Sefirat Ha’Omer. This book is bursting with profound insights, powerful teachings, and hands-on practical excercises to help you change your life for the better. It will help you connect more to yourself, others, and most importantly, Hashem.

Rav Micha Hyman
Rosh Kollel Lev Avraham

This book is just dripping with depth, well-earned insight, sensitivity in its words to such an extent that it in itself is an elevating experience for the reader; gentle and well thought out guidance for the reader to integrate the teachings; a very lofty vision that is well grounded in our most sacred, and ancient Torah sources, and a map for real transformative growth.  It reads like a soft invitation into our deeper selves, and into a world that is better, sweeter, deeper, and unified. ... I’ve been waiting a long time for a book like this to appear.

Traditional Jews know of the Ari's Kabbalistic tradition on how to move forward from the high of celebrating Pesach and G-d's salvation to living with G-d and with ourselves in the midst of daily life - to "receiving the Torah".

But most of us don't speak the Ari's Kabbalistic language.

Fortunately, Rabbi Benji Elson has stepped forward and translated the Ari's language into modern language and daily steps. Jump in and join R. Benji as he guides us from day one through until the end.

This book is a joy and a blessing.

Rabbi Yom Tov Glaer
Leader of the Possible You Seminar

R. Benji's incredible work comes to remind us, with countless insights and tools to become who we were truly born to be. ... R. Benji's insights and chiddushim are exciting and quite compelling.

Benji's deep understanding of the human psyche was evident even then [10 years ago] and it is remarkable to see that he has continued to develop and grow in his talents, therapeutic skills, and Torah mastery to be able to produce this truly innovative, powerful, and transformative book!

[In Dance of the Omer] my dear friend Benji Elson teaches us to dance a new dance which is a very old one.

During this Dance, one has the privilege to learn the steps and moves necessary to provide the direction which our freedom is waiting for.
